Steps

  1. Choose scans or imagesOpen OCR text and choose a scanned PDF or JPG, PNG images. You can choose several files and reorder them.
  2. Choose the output type“Searchable PDF” keeps the pages as they look and adds a text layer you can search (Ctrl+F) and copy. “Text (.txt)” takes only the text.
  3. Press “Recognize text”The first time, the tool downloads the Vietnamese text recognition model (about 1.4 MB) from this site itself. After that, each page takes a few seconds.
  4. Download or copyThe downloaded PDF is named “<file name> - OCR.pdf”. The text version appears in the “Text content” box; press “Copy” to paste it elsewhere.

Tips

  • Straight, sharp photos with reasonably large text give the best results.
  • Pages that already have a text layer are skipped, not read again.
  • Need text from just one photo: use Image → Text, it's faster.

Good to know

  • Only Vietnamese is recognized for now.
  • OCR can misread text, especially blurry photos or handwriting. Check the result before using it.
  • The first time, you need a connection to download the recognition model.
