Scan documents into a PDF with your phone

No scanner needed: photograph documents with your phone camera, crop them neatly and combine them into one PDF file. The photos stay only on your device.

Steps

  1. Choose or take photosOpen Scan images → PDF. Press “Choose files” to use existing photos (JPG, PNG), or “Take photo” to shoot with the rear camera.
  2. Shoot and cropYou can take up to 50 photos per session. Tap a thumbnail to crop or delete it; in dim light press “Turn on flashlight”. When you're done, press the “Use” button with the number of photos.
  3. ReorderEach photo is one page. Put the pages in the right order before creating the PDF.
  4. Choose paper size and marginsIn the “Image pages” section, choose a “Paper size” (A4, A3, Letter or “Fit image”) and a “Margin” (no margin, 10 mm or 20 mm).
  5. Create and download the PDFPress “Create PDF”, then “Download”. Rotated phone photos are straightened automatically.

Tips

  • Shoot straight down from above, with the paper on a dark background and good lighting.
  • Choose “Fit image” to keep the photo's proportions without adding white borders.
  • For a smaller file, run Compress PDF next. To make the text searchable, run OCR text next.

Good to know

  • The camera only works when the page is opened over HTTPS. If your browser blocks the camera, click the lock icon in the address bar to allow it, then try again.
  • Only JPG and PNG images are accepted for now.
